Jackie Van Blaricum
President
Jackie (DeSouza) Van Blaricum is currently the President of HCA Healthcare Far West Division, with oversight of eight hospitals and multiple healthcare facilities throughout Las Vegas, Southern and Northern California. This robust network of access point employs nearly 16,000 colleagues and includes a large affiliated and employed physician network offering industry-leading care in a broad range of specialties.
Jackie has been with HCA Healthcare for more than 24 years, serving as hospital CEO for nearly half of her tenure. Most recently, she led Riverside Community Hospital in Riverside, California, for nearly 4 years and previously led Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri, for nearly 5 years. A hands-on leader, Jackie is well known for her dedication to the organization's mission as well as her transparent communication style, warm and down-to-earth nature and respect for all patients, colleagues, physicians and community members.
Throughout her career, she garnered national recognition for her leadership including Modern Healthcare's Top 25 Minority Executives in Healthcare in America and Becker's Hospital Review 500 People to Know in Healthcare in America.
Jackie has served as a member of several non-profit organization boards and is an avid volunteer. She has served as the chairperson for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Light the Night, the American Heart Association's Heart Walk and the Kidney Walk. She has competed in 'Dancing with the Kansas City Stars' to raise funds for educational scholarships for low-income youth. Her efforts have collectively helped these organizations raise more than $5M. Currently, she is on the board of the Riverside Community Health Foundation, a local nonprofit providing low or no cost healthcare to the city of Riverside.
Jackie received her Bachelor's degree in Health/Healthcare Administration/Management from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, and a Master's degree in Health/Healthcare Administration/Management from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. She is married to Mark Van Blaricum and they have two daughters, Sylvie, 13 and Julie, 15.
Jeffrey (Jeff) Murawsky, MD
Chief Medical Officer
Jeffrey (Jeff) Murawsky, MD, was named chief medical officer (CMO) of HCA Healthcare’s Far West Division in December 2021. Dr. Murawsky most recently served as chief medical director for SilverSummit Health Plan. He was previously CMO at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center for six years where he oversaw the clinical excellence agenda. In his current role, Dr. Murawsky oversees the clinical and quality operations, physician integration and alignment for the Far West Division’s eight hospitals and additional access points.
He is a native of DeKalb, Illinois, received a bachelor’s degree from Brandeis University and received his Doctor of Medicine from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in 1994. Dr. Murawsky is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and a published author in health services research and a Fellow in the American College of Physicians. He received the American College of Physicians Physician Laureate Award in 2017 and was voted as Las Vegas’ Healthcare Headliner for Administrator of the Year in 2021.
Annette Greenwood, BSN, MHA, RN
Chief Nurse Executive
As the Chief Nurse Executive, Annette is responsible for and leads all nursing including clinical nursing leadership, operational and quality performance activities across the division, which represents California and Nevada.
Prior to joining the Far West Division, Annette served as an executive leader in both the acute and outpatient healthcare settings, performing as a Chief Nursing Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Hospital Administrator (CEO), as well as County Ambulatory Care Director in Southern California.
Throughout her career, Annette's vision and commitment is to provide excellence in clinical outcomes and patient experience, as well as establishing a highly engaged nursing workforce, creating excellence in organizational performance. Her focus on engagement and culture has created an environment that values the development of leaders across the organization.
Annette received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Loma Linda University and her Masters in Healthcare Administration from the University of Minnesota. She is a Fellow with America's Essential Hospitals and participates as a CNO Advisor on the California Hospital Associations Nursing Advisory Committee. As a strong nurse advocate, she was invited to participate as one of fifty Nursing Thought Leaders working on The Future of Nursing Education Re-design in California. Annette was the project lead for work defining the Value of Nursing sponsored by the California Hospital Association and HealthImpact. Continuing the goal of life-long learning, she is a graduate of the inaugural HCA Chief Leadership Program and served on the HCA Corporate CNO Council as the Far West Division representative.
Duane Lovelace
Chief Information Officer
Duane began his career with HCA Healthcare 13 years ago for the Far West Division as the Director of IT at Riverside Community Hospital. In 2017, he was promoted to Senior Director, implementing key technologies with this team for the hospital. Duane then transitioned to the Director of Technical Services role in 2021, having led technical infrastructure disciplines across the Far West Division. Most recently, Duane has been appointed the CIO of the Far West Division.
Duane has played a vital role in advancing the technology agenda in the Far West Division with a focus on business alignment and high availability. He has developed and implemented technical infrastructure plans that enhanced cost-effectiveness, service quality, and productivity. With expertise in facility support needs and strong connections with Far West leadership teams, Duane possesses the technical, business, and interpersonal skills essential for the CIO role. His passion for driving culture and building connections aligns well with HCA Healthcare's mission.
Duane earned his MBA from the University of Redlands, and a bachelor's degree from California State University, San Bernardino. He is an HCA Healthcare Emerging Leaders Program graduate and is a Veteran of the United States Air Force.
